Syprosoft has vast experience with urological surgery products, in particular Holmium:YAG lasers. These are pulsed lasers that emit light at 2100 nm and provide both tissue cutting and coagulation in a single device. Since the holmium wavelength can be transmitted down optical fibers, it is especially suited for endoscopic surgery. Common procedures include incision of urethral strictures, prostate resection, and lithotripsy of urinary calculi. We have also helped develop an ultrasound based transrectal prostate biopsy system.
